Summer Sew-A-Long • Made for Mermaids Lana Bra • Day 3

Happy Friday, creative community! I’m back with Day 3 of a “Br-august” Sew-A-Long, featuring the Made for Mermaids Lana Bra. If you’ve never sewn lingerie before, the Lana is a GREAT starter pattern.

The most common feedback I receive is from sewists who are scared to jump into making a bra. I can assure you there is nothing to fear! This is a minor investment of time and resources.

You can literally dip into your scrap pile for materials. Findings, like closures and straps, are a minimal investment. In fact, you can salvage these items from existing bras. That’s what I did with a few ill-fitting ready-to-wear bras that were barely worn.

Small pieces, short seams… bras come together SO FAST! Once you find your perfect fit, the rest of the process flies by. Trust me! Jump right in and make some magic.

For today, we are prepping the frame and attaching the cups. Quick and simple!

Are you participating in any “Br-august” makers’ events? I’d love to hear about them!
